Red Owl Tavern hosts Rare Craft Balvenie Tasting

Lovers of scotch whiskey should head to Red Owl Tavern on Friday, October 6th for The RARE CRAFT Master Class: A Perfectly Crafted Evening, for an intimate tasting of four rare Balvenie spirits from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Located right off of historic Independence Mall, Red Owl Tavern has over 140 brown spirits, more than nearly any restaurant in Philadelphia.

Guests will be joined by The Balvenie ambassador Gemma Paterson for a detailed tasting of four rare scotches :

  • 12 Year Old
  • 14 Year Old
  • 15 Year Old
  • 21 Year Old

The Balvenie distillery is the only distillery to employ the Five Rare Crafts of traditional whiskey making. This includes growing their own barley, on-site floor malting, maintaining their own cooperage, employing their own coppersmith and having the most experienced Malt Master in Scotland at their service.

Tickets are available for $20, which includes the Balvenie tasting and light fare. The tasting event will be held in Red Owl Tavern’s Shanghai private dining room. Space is limited and reservations are required, contact General Manager, Michael Kurtz at michael.Kurtz@redowltavern.com or 215-923-2267.
