What better place to enjoy classic soups such as Matzo Ball, Chicken Noodle, Split Pea or Vegetable than a diner that embodies the classic diner deli atmosphere.  It’s almost like stepping back in time entering this joint.  The soup variety is great and the yumminess factor is amazing.  Perfect spot to pair a sandwich with your soup as well.

This South Philly gem makes our list of the best places to get soup in Philly for their Mustard Soup alone. Yes, you heard that right, Mustard Soup.  Comprising of caviar, tarragon oil, rye croutons and a scallop it’s the stuff of legends.  Other soups you can find here include Sunchoke Bisque and Flemish Farmer Soup. If you ever had the soup here you’ll know why it made the list.

This Japanese soup spot serves up some of the best soup you will ever have. Like ever.  Their broth process alone is mind boggling as their website states, “The broth is simmered for a period of 2 days. Due to the extensive cooking period, our broth has a deep, well developed flavor that can only be described by experiencing it.”  Do you really need more of a reason to try this spot? Yea we didn’t think so.

Hand made and made to order. You get to choose whether your noodles are thick or thin or broad or narrow and pretty much everything that goes into it.  Essentially it’s like building your own soup. The Nan Zhou noodle has over 160 years of history, so year this is some serious soup making.  So if you’re ever in Chinatown and in the mood for some extra special soup, this is a must try.
