Añejo Philly, located at 1001 North 2nd on the Northern Liberties Restaurant Row, will bring new meaning to Taco Tuesday with a brand-new Bottomless Taco Experience. Each and every Taco Tuesday, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, guests are invited to indulge in unlimited signature tacos that include Lamb Barbacoa, Wild Mushroom, Crispy Cauliflower, Crispy Fish, Crispy Gulf Shrimp, Chicken Al Pastor, Pork Carnitas and a “Taco Exclusivo” feature for the week. For the first two weeks of the program, the special feature will be Spicy Meatball Parm on Tuesday, February 15th and Cheesesteak Taco on Tuesday, February 22nd (also National Margarita Day). Each guest at the table must order the bottomless taco experience, and the cost is $25 per person.

The experience includes as many tacos as one can eat, plus rice and beans, and Añejo’s authentic house-made chips and salsa. Guests will also have access to a special extended happy hour that runs the entire time from 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with Blanco Margaritas for $6 or $24 for a pitcher, Anejo Margaritas for $7, Mezcal Margaritas for $7 and Jalapeno Margaritas for $7. Other specials during the weekly event include cocktail, wine, sangria and beer discounts, plus add-on small plates for only $3 to $8. Añejo will also offer additional specials on February 22nd in honor of National Margarita Day.

Guests will enjoy as many tacos as they can eat, the ability to mix and match their order, complimentary chips, salsa, rice and beans, and extended happy hour discounts. Pair your tacos with happy hour margaritas for only $6 or enjoy Añejo’s expertly-made agave cocktails.

The full menu for Taco Tuesday Bottomless brunch includes at least eight offerings each week. Executive Chef and Partner Ricardo Camacho said, “Añejo Philly is proud to offer this exciting new program to bring back the energy and fun to Taco Tuesday but in a whole new way. We wanted to create something exciting where you could mix and match our offerings and try new flavors and varieties you might not otherwise experience. We also wanted to go big or go home with a big selection, with at least eight tacos per week. For our first preview event, we had over 250 people and served up over 1,100 tacos – or at least that is the number we stopped counting at. We are thrilled to get such a warm reception as we gear up for our official launch. Stay tuned as well, as we have many exciting programs and special menus coming this spring, including being part of Northern Liberties Restaurant Week.”

The Bottomless Taco Experience includes unlimited mix and match tacos,rice and beans, salsa and chips. The taco selections are as follows:

Lamb Barbacoa
Adobo and chili marinated lamb shoulder, braised in negra modelo, canela and avocado leaf, salsa borracha (mezcal spiked), onions, corn tortillas

Wild Mushroom
Lightly pickled beech mushrooms, charred zucchini, shitake chicharron, avocado salsa

Crispy Cauliflower
Pineapple-arbol glaze, snap peas, pea shoot, lime aioli

Crispy Fish
Beer battered mahi-mahi, poblano slaw, lime aioli, flour tortilla

Crispy Shrimp
Crispy gulf shrimp, guacamole, pico de gallo, chipotle crema, cotija cheese

Chicken Al Pastor
Al Pastor spices, pineapple, pickled onions, salsa verde

Pork Carnitas
Confit pork shoulder, pickled onions, salsa verde, guacamole, cilantro

For National Margarita Day on Tuesday, February 22nd, look for the following features added on all day from open to close, with two $22 discounted margarita flights. One is entirely with tanteo spirits for anejo, reposado, jalapeño, and blanco margs. The other is all fun flavors. We are thinking blue raspberry, peach pomegranate, citrus blend and mixed berry. And yes, think two at $22 for 2/22!

Born out of a love for Mexican food and agave spirits – as well as their neighborhood – Añejo has become known for innovative small plates that put a new twist on Mexican food. Executive Chef and Partner Ricardo Camacho’s innovative menu creates a new experience that will delight the palate. Their staff is trained to showcase their top-notch hospitality as well as their expertise in cocktails, agave spirits, and food. With the Taco Tuesday Bottomless Taco Experience, Añejo wants to give guests the ability to mix and match their tacos, experience new flavors and something they might not otherwise try, and cater to the neighborhood with a well-priced quality offering that will appeal to residents in Northern Liberties and Fishtown.

Añejo Philly opened during the pandemic and a time when seating was limited. Añejo Philly is now fully open with a combination of indoor seating in the dining room and at the grand bar, plus a covered heated streetery on N. 2nd Street, and additional seating and a firepit behind the restaurant, in the Piazza. Añejo Philly has become famous for their ticketed Weekend Bottomless Brunch Experience, with reservations booked up to two months in advance. The Brunch Experience is $47 and each ticket includes 1.5 hours of bottomless brunch cocktails, guacamole, salsa and chips and Coconut French Toast for the entire table. Plus each guest additionally receives one selection from the special brunch menu. Reservations are now open and booking for April and May, 2022.
