You Can Now Create Your Own Light Display at Spruce Street Harbor Park’s New Light Installation!

Spruce Street Harbor Park has been a hot spot for locals to hangout and and unwind by the river.  With its hanging lights, hammocks, live shows and food & drink selection the vibes have always been solid.  Now Spruce Street Harbor Park is improving the ambiance with a new light installation, “Bright Lights Our City,” by Univest.

Created by FKB Studio, this super fun experience allows visitors to create their own light display by waving their hands above specially-designed, branded kiosks. Light patterns and color palettes will sync to users’ movements, creating a living tapestry throughout the Park. Sounds amazing, right?
The installation, supported by a generous grant from The McLean Contributionship, will happen nightly and visitors will be able to enjoy it throughout the summer and fall.  There are also some old and new faces on the vending front.  This season’s line-up includes vendors Garces, Chickie’s and Pete’s, French Toast Bites, Frozen Delights Funnel Cake and Cotton Candy.
For those with safety concerns, Spruce Street Harbor Park did implement precautions which include:
  • Visitors will be required to wear masks unless they are eating or drinking.
  • All forms of payment will be accepted at on-site vendors.
  • Food and beverage lines will be limited to 10 persons at a time.
  • Sanitizing stations will be available throughout the park.
  • There will be no hammocks.
  • Special signage and ground graphics will be posted to help visitors practice physical distancing.
  • Bathrooms are open to the public and sanitized hourly.

Park Hours are as follows:
