You Won’t Have to Look Both Ways….Philly Free Streets Returns This October
If you missed it, you now get another chance to explore the city like never before. Philly Free Streets returns October 28th and will entail about 7 miles of closed streets from North Philadelphia’s Fairhill section all the way down to Old City from 8 am to 1 pm.
Free Streets was created after The Pope’s visit. As you remember just about ever street was closed off to traffic. During which time many residents enjoyed the luxury of being able to run, walk, and bike the streets of Philadelphia without the hassle of navigating through traffic.
Last year the city closed off 10 miles from the Delaware to the Schuylkill. Thousands of residents and visitors took advantage of the closures. This year’s Philadelphia Free Streets is expected to once again draw large crowds. So make sure you get your running shoes ready or air in your bike tires because this is a great chance to roam about the city hassle free.
