WokWorks Opens a New Location in ShopRite Near Cheltenham Mall
Putting a tasty restaurant in a grocery store? Why not? This past Monday popular restaurant/food truck WokWorks opened their newest location inside of ShopRite at 2471 W. Cheltenham Ave. WokWorks which started as a brick-and-mortar store in Rittenhouse Square in 2013 has since expanded to pickup and delivery locations that include the Northeast and Brewerytown, with food carts and trucks serving a mix of hospitals, universities, private events, breweries, and apartment buildings in the greater Philadelphia area.
Looking to get involved in this growing food empire, entrepreneurs Greg Cheatham and Regina Cooper reached out to WorkWorks to open their own store and the rest was history. “Greg reached out to us, interested in opening his own Wokworks franchise. He is an entrepreneur, extremely smart and capable, and he and Regina have already proven to be incredible partners and great additions to the Wokworks family,” states Wokworks Partner Samantha Foxman.
So what can guests expect that have never been to a WokWorks? “Everything on the menu is fresh, made with clean ingredients, and 100% halal. The ancient wok cooking method flash sears ingredients and produces a unique smokey flavor while locking in nutrients and removing the need for excess oils or additives,” Samantha adds.
In addition to a new location, WorkWork is also introducing new a new vegan and gluten-free category to their menu. The menu will include a Brussels sprouts salad with red cabbage, carrot, red onion, jalapeño, and crispy shallots with sweet chili dressing, a spicy garden bowl which is all fresh market vegetables wok seared in Szechuan chili oil, and a tangy orange tofu rice bowl.
The hours of operation are 11 am – 9 pm everyday.
