Who is Down for a Philly Beer Bus Tour?
Philly Loves Beer is excited to announce a special curated, one-day-only local beer tour as part of the new consumer track of the 2020 Grain & Malt Symposium. The guided Beer Bus Tour will kick off at Craft Hall on Sunday, March 1 at 2 PM and take beer-lovers on a multi-stop, educational experience that highlights area breweries who are using local grain and malt. Brewery stops include Mainstay Independent Brewing, Urban Village Brewing, Triple Bottom Brewing, Roy Pitz Barrel House and Brewery ARS with each stop including an in-depth brew tour, samples, water and light fare.
The Grain & Malt Symposium is an annual gathering hosted by Deer Creek Malthouse and Growing Roots that brings together farmers, maltsters, millers, brewers, distillers, bakers, chefs, and restaurateurs who work grain and malt. The symposium will be held Friday, February 28 through Monday, March 2 and provides opportunities for those in the beer industry to collaborate, network, educate and share products all made with local grain and malt. New to the symposium are consumer experiences, like the Philly Loves Beer Bus Tour, which are events where beer lovers can talk, taste, and learn from some of the Philadelphia region’s top chefs, bakers, distilleries and breweries.
Other events on the consumer track include Malt Flights at Devil’s Den where patrons can enjoy and learn about locally brewed beers made with Deer Creek Malt, the first malthouse in Pennsylvania since prohibition. The bar will also feature Deer Creek Citywides during the four-day symposium which consist of a shot and a beer both made with local malts.
Tickets for the four hour Philly Loves Beer Bus Tour are $40 and are available to purchase here. The bus is provided by City Brew Tours.
