Urban Art Fest 52 Returns to West Philly for Third Year Featuring Big Daddy Kane, Chubb Rock, and 50+ Visual Artists
This year’s festival will be headlined by hip-hop artists Big Daddy Kane and Chubb Rock, who are scheduled to take the stage with live performances of their classic hits. Beyond the music, the block will come alive with more than 50 visual artists displaying and selling their work, live graffiti demonstrations, and a stretch of local food and art vendors lining the street. Organizers describe the festival as a chance to bring art directly into the neighborhood, turning the corridor into a gathering space for the community.
“Urban Art Fest is about more than just art on a wall — it’s about giving our community a space to come together, celebrate creativity, and see themselves reflected in the work on display,” said Karl Morris, owner of Urban Art Gallery. “Every year this festival grows, and it’s a reminder of why we started UAG in the first place: to make art accessible to everyone in this neighborhood.”
Organizers said additional details about the festival, including further lineup announcements, are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
About Urban Art Gallery
Urban Art Gallery (UAG) was founded in April 2013 with the goal of bridging the gap between art and the urban community, creating a space where emerging artists can showcase and sell their work. The organization’s mission centers on inspiring appreciation for and active participation in the arts through a range of creative programming, including poetry showcases, live performances, youth workshops and private events.
UAG operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and works with local partners and sponsors to offer free community programs, including Chess Chat and Art Buds, a free youth art class. According to the organization, funds raised support its mission-driven programming, with the goal of keeping art accessible as a tool for education, inspiration and connection.
