Tio Flores is Shutting Down 16th Street For Their First Ever Cinco de Mayo BBQ Block Party

Philly’s favorite uncle, Tio Flores (1600 South Street), is bringing the full-force fiesta to South Street for their inaugural Tio Flores Cinco de Mayo BBQ Block Party on Thursday, May 5, 2022. Inside, the celebration begins and runs all day Noon to Midnight, but outside come ready from 3:00pm to 10:00pm as Tio Flores will close down 16th Street from South to Kater, and party into the night with their signature margaritas, top-notch tacos, and buckets of beer. On top of food and drink, guests will enjoy live music, Latin beats from DK Kevin Kong, lawn games, salsa dancing, and booze-bustin’ piñatas. Bring your lawn chair and your sunglasses for a Spring fling with a Latin flair. The event is free and open to the public — come rain come shine. Tio’s main bar and restaurant will be open at Noon for standard cantina fare, and the outdoor cookout starts at 3pm (pay-as-you-go, cash only). This event is pet-friendly so be sure to bring the pups as well.

Prepare to party with a beverage lineup including:
• Tio’s ‘Ritas Clásicas
• Hot-n-Spicy Jalapeño Margs
• Fiesta Flavors like Kiwi-Strawberry, Coco-Guava, Charred Pineapple, Prickly Pear and Chile-Mango
• Watermelon Agua Fresca
• Curated Agave Spirits & Sugar Cane Distillates
• Mexicanned cervezas like Corona, Pacifico, and Modelo Especial
• $5 Tecate Cans – Tequila Corazón Shots – Mezcal Apaluz Shots

• Tijuana Dogs
• Smoked Brisket Cemitas
• Carnitas Taquitos
• Spicy Street Corn
• Churro Donuts

The bar and restaurant opens at Noon with the lawn party starting at 3pm and running well into la noche! Guests will be required to show valid I.D. upon entry at 16th & South Street to receive a wristband. Must be 21 or older to drink.
