The Science After Hours: Spectacular Spectacular Is Back With Live Music, Acrobats, Cinema, a Speakeasy & More

If you missed out on the fun last year, no worries because The Franklin Institute is brining back the popular Science After Hours: Spectacular Spectacular. This event was such a hit last year that they decided to bring it back with even more entertainment and experiences.

This 21+ event will kick off the 2024 Science After Hours season and will feature everything from music, dance, cinema, a secret speakeasy, surprise entertainment, and stunning performances wrapped around TFI’s exhibit experiences and rooftop gazing. Spectacular Spectacular returns for one night only, so step right up—because life is a cabaret.

Tickets to this event are $40 for General Admission ($35 for TFI members) and can be purchased here. Tickets include evening access to all core exhibits and galleries, limited edition exclusive event lapel pin, as well as roof deck access for spectacular city views and stargazing (weather permitting). As for the featured programing, guests will get to enjoy:

Under the Big Top | Atrium
Witness a spectacular showcase of jaw-dropping acrobatics and mesmerizing performances by The Philadelphia School of Circus Arts and experience for yourself the thrill of floating through the air, walking the aerial rope, and spinning on silks.

The Revue | Pepper Hall
Hosts for the evening, Iris Spectre & Bear Trap, deliver a one-stop cabaret for burlesque, dance, and delights—music by DJ Drootrax. Lessons on how to shimmy, shake, and break it down with Cherry Bomb, the Director of the Peek-A-Boo Revue, and an instructor at The Philadelphia Burlesque Academy!

The Cinema | Franklin Theater
See a curated collection of short films from yesteryear, shown on real celluloid film presented by Philadelphia’s premiere floating repertory cinema series, Secret Cinema.

The Round | Fels Planetarium
Sit back and enjoy the sights of space paired with the sounds of local musicians for a series of memorable performances featuring sets by Angelo Outlaw, Resse Florence and members from Opera on Tap Philly.

Three-Eyed Jacks | ???
