The Rosenbach Museum is Hosting a Bloomsday Festival With a Beer Garden, Food Trucks, Live Music and More
Okay bookworms, here’s a celebration for you. For nearly 30 years The Rosenbach Museum & Library (2008-2010 Delancey St.) in Fitler Square has been hosting their special Boomsday Festival. Every year, the world celebrates Bloomsday on June 16th, the day that James Joyce’s Ulysses is set in 1904.
This year Bloomsday will be celebrated on Friday June 16th from 11 am to 8 pm. Guests will get to enjoy a day-long celebration with musical performances, activations and over 75 readers and performers who will read James Joyce’s “Ulysses” to the public.
Attendees will have a chance to get their hands on exclusive Bloomsday merchandise for sale as well enjoy sips in a beer garden with a special Bloomsday beer brewed by Attic Brewing Company. In addition several food trucks including Federal Donuts, 2 Street Street Sammies, and the Häagen-Dazs. There will also a section of community tables from literary and Irish organizations from around the city.
Irish musicians Darin Kelly and John McGillian will also be entertaining the crowd between readings with sets at 12:15 pm, 1:40 pm, 3:15 pm, 4:50 pm, 6:00 pm, and 6:50 pm.
