The Ranstead Room & Friday Saturday Sunday Will Collab For a Night of Jazz & Special Cocktails
2023 was a big year for Philly’s food and beverage scene. Friday Saturday Sunday spent much of 2023 racking up accolades, most notably Best American Restaurant at the James Beard Awards. Meanwhile, The Ranstead Room’s bar team spent the year traveling the country, collaborating with award-winning cocktail bars.
On Sunday, January 14th from 6pm – 11 pm, the two lauded programs kick off 2024 in style as their respective Head Bartenders, Paul MacDonald and Nico Diaz, deliver what’s sure to be an instant Philly classic with live music and of course tasty cocktails at The Ranstead Room (2013 Ranstead St.).
“Guests can expect a party. Drew Nugent & the Midnight Society will be playing New Orleans-style Jazz. The drinks will flow,” Nico Diaz stated. “We came by this collaboration organically. It happened over drinks at Fri Sat Sun. Once I invited Paul, and he agreed, we went into immediate brainstorming mode, understanding what a rare treat this event will be for people who frequent the terrific cocktail bars and restaurants in Rittenhouse,” Nico added.
For now the cocktail menu is under wraps but both Head Bartenders have been working in tandem to deliver “eight absolute head-ringers highlighting the distinguished portfolios of Campari and Hotaling & Co.”Diaz: “We do. But we’re keeping that to ourselves until the event. The menu is truly collaborative. Paul and I are working in tandem to deliver
“One of the biggest strengths of Philadelphia’s restaurant scene is the spirit of friendship and cooperation. There’s a real sense among this community that separate establishments as collaborators rather than competitors, working together to create the best version of ourselves and share them with the world. This event will be an opportunity to see two prominent Rittenhouse bartenders with vastly different styles and approaches come together for one night to create something new. We’ll each be bringing our distinct brands both of hospitality and cocktails with us, building a special collaborative menu of drinks unique to this event. Those who come out will see a side of the Philadelphia cocktail scene that they haven’t seen before, and we plan to make it a memorable one,” Paul states.
The event will be free to attend, so no ticket is required but it will be first come, first served.
