The Phillies Will Retire Roy Halladay’s Number on May 29th!
It’s almost that time of the year where the boys of summer will start their spring training. On the even of pitchers and catchers reporting, news has come out of Phillies headquarters regarding the late great Roy Halladay.
On May 29th the Phillies plan to retire Roy’s number. This comes on the anniversary of his perfect game against the Marlins. In that game Roy Halladay retired all 27 batters and striking out 11, allowing no hits, runs, walks, or errors.
Roy lost his life in an untimely accident where the aircraft he was piloting crashed into the Gulf of Mexico back in 2017. This ceremony will cement his legacy in Phillies baseball history.
