A year ago local entrepreneur Becca Grites opened the doors to Sunday Girl, which was her “fresh take on your typical coffee bar” café and coworking space. Located at 263 N. 3rd Street (the corner of 3rd and Vine) in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood, Sunday Girl has gone on to become a popular hub for both coffee drinkers and those looking for a space to bang out some work, find community, and forge new friendships.
Now in celebration of her one-year anniversary, Becca has curated a special 3-day celebration this coming weekend. “I have a lot of fun stuff planned (some surprises, of course), but I would love everyone in the community to be involved in any way they’d like,” Becca stated. From March 21st-March 23rd, Sunday Girl will host a variety of events which will include:
Friday, March 21:
During the day, Sunday Girl will be open our regular hours and hosting a raffle/silent auction all in support of the Philadelphia SCPA. Folks can pat $5 for raffle tickets all day long, placing their bets on packages from Field Day Herbals, Nayana Pet Photography, Phony Negroni, and more. Come meet adoptable pets from Philly SPCA from 3- 5pm, as well. Sunday Girl re-opens from 6-9 pm, and bring your dancing shoes, because DJs Ashana + Jen from spicewave will be spinning for some evening vibes. Seagram’s will be sponsoring the party (free drinks while they last!) and SG’s very own resident award-winning bartender, Caro, will be serving specialty NA cocktails. Be sure to stay for a very special, SG cake by Party Girl Bake Club with a chai pairing.
Saturday, March 22:
SG FAVES MARKET, 10 am – 2 pm
This will be the day for the free-to-attend market at SG. “All of our favorite in-house and out-of-house local brands will be on-site to sell their one-of-a-kind items. There are more than 10 vendors, and Sunday Girl will have specialty drinks running all day. Some vendors on tap are Philthy Phinds, Misfit Market, Philly Cookie Company, Tuft Broad and Bolognese BB,” Becca states.
Sunday, March 23:
A Special Celebration Walk with PamPam, 11:30 am – 12 pm
“While we want to keep the BIG fun a surprise, we are so excited to announce that our one-year walk is officially happening with renowned PamPam. All walkers can meet at SG anytime before 11:15 am to grab their drink and meet their walking buddies. I’ll be on site to hand out favors before the walk, and we’ll meet our guests of honor. We encourage all walkers to sign up in advance at lu.ma/534ur2na but you do not have to register to attend. Please arrive at least 20 mins before the walk to join the fun on time and get your props,” Becca adds.
