The Kimmel Center is Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of The Lion King With a Screening and Live Orchestra
If you remember around the holiday season the Kimmel Center screened Nightmare Before Christmas and Elf with the Philadelphia Orchestra playing the score for a memorable movie experience.
Now, movies at the Kimmel Center are back with the Disney classic Lion King. The screening will take place at Verizon Hall on February 24th and 25th and will be in celebration of the iconic flick turning 30 this year. Yes, 30 years in case you wanted to feel old.
The Philadelphia Orchestra with Conductor Damon Gupton will be playing the soundtrack that helped make The Lion King a smash hit including Hakuna Matata and Circle of Life. So be prepared to laugh, singalong and yes shed a tear. Both show dates have a 2 pm start time with tickets starting at $35.
