The Bourse and Morris Animal Refuge are Hosting a Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Party
The Bourse Food Hall, Philadelphia’s modern artisanal food hall on Independence Mall, is teaming up with Morris Animal Refuge, to host an outdoor family-friendly fall fest, featuring a pet costume contest, photo opportunities, treats for two-legged and four-legged attendees, prizes, music, and more on Saturday, October 16 from 1-3 pm.
The Bourse and Morris Animal Refuge invite Philadelphians and their furry friends to the food hall’s 5th st. patio for the ultimate fall fashion show. Tickets are $10 online ($12 at the door) and include pet entry into the contest, a strut down the red carpet, plus one fall-themed photo of pets in their Howl-o-ween best. All proceeds from tickets sales will benefit Morris Animal Refuge and can be purchased here.
“We’re so excited to partner with our friends at Morris Animal Refuge for what is sure to be the ulti-mutt costume party,” said Christina Trinh, The Bourse Food Hall General Manager. “We’re looking forward to celebrating spooky season, all while supporting our friends at Morris Animal Refuge.”
A panel of esteemed judges will determine winners in the following categories: Best Overall, Best Philly “Jawn” and Best Team Costume (can be two pets or owner/pet, etc.) Winners in each category will receive a prize and trophy.
Menagerie Coffee will be offering puppycinos, and for paw-tastic photos, a replica of the iconic Ghost Buster car will be on-site for pet-owners and their furry friends to take pictures along with a local friendly neighborhood ghost-specialist from the Philadelphia/New Jersey Ghost Busters who will be investigating and busting away ghosts lurking around to support the cause.
To continue the fun at this years Howl-o-Ween, music and outdoor games such as cornhole and football toss will be available for use and fun fall-themed decorations will be set up on the patio for additional photo taking and celebration.
To further support the animal shelter, Morris Animal Refuge will be offering paw painting portraits as well as raffle prizes.
This is an outdoor-only event. Pets are not permitted inside The Bourse Food Hall. When inside the food hall, masks are required.
“We are so excited and thankful to be partnering with The Bourse Food Hall for this fun fall fundraising event for the whole family (including our furry family)” said Grace Erikson, Morris Animal Refuge Community Engagement Coordinator. “We have such a great team working together to make sure this event is memorable and fun. And we can’t wait to see all of your pups in their HOWL-o-ween best on October 16th.”
