The Boozy Mutt Will Host Its 2nd Annual Wooder Bowl “Watch Pawty” On Super Bowl Sunday With Adoptable Pups & Games
It’s back. That’s right the 2nd Annual Wooder Bowl is happening at The Boozy Mutt (2639 Poplar St.). Known as a bar and restaurant that doubles as an off-leash dog park, The Boozy Mutt will once again welcome in dogs (and humans) of all shapes and sizes to catch the big game on February 9th.
A play on Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl — The Wooder Bowl will take place on Super Bowl Sunday at the restaurant located on the border of Philadelphia’s Brewerytown & Fairmount neighborhoods. The event is presented by Philly-based social media brand Wooder Ice and comes with a focus on getting senior dogs from ACCT Philly adopted, as well as supporting ACCT Philly’s YODA Fund helping fund medically urgent care for dogs.
The official start of Wooder Bowl is 2 pm. However, the festivities will start with adoptable dogs from 10 – 11:10 am. This session will be closed to public dogs and will offer a chance for those looking to adopt to find a pup and give them a forever home. Then from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm ACCT volunteers will be hosting a scavenger hunt and raffles. Everyone who completes the scavenger hunt will receive a cool prize.
The Boozy Mutt is a 6,500 square-foot property which includes an expansive 3,120 square-foot artificial grass yard, and a two-story brick building complete with a restaurant, private event space, retail merchandise area, a dog wash room, and large flatscreen TVs throughout for watching the big game. The 140-seat restaurant and bar offers menus for both humans and dogs. It is the first bar and restaurant in the state of Pennsylvania to allow dogs indoors and outdoors off-leash.
The Boozy Mutt will feature a number of initiatives to raise money to benefit ACCT Philly, with a goal of getting as many senior dogs adopted as possible. There will be the official launch of the Dog Tag Wall, where guests can purchase personalized dog tags with proceeds going directly to ACCT Philly. There will also be complimentary “woofer ice,” a house-made frozen treat consisting of watermelon ice cubes and unsweetened whipped cream, for all dogs who arrive in football gear. And from February 11th through March 11th, $1 from each sale of The Boozy Mutt’s Fairmount Fries, Bloody Marys, Mimosas, and Mulled Wine will be donated to ACCT Philly.
