The Barnes Foundation is Hosting a First Friday Mixer Featuring a Woman Led Orchestra, Cocktails, and Light Fare

Looking for a unique and classy date night? Well, The Barnes Foundation is curating a First Friday Mixer with a live orchestra, cocktails, and light fare. That’s right on Friday March 3rd, the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra will be performing live at The Barnes Foundation.

The First Friday mixer will take place 6-9 pm and is a great way to kick-off the weekend and Women’s History Month. The orchestra will be directed and conducted by Jeri Lynne Johnson.

This performance at the Barnes is part of an international series of concerts celebrating Women’s History Month and the 20th anniversary of the Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship, a two-year award supporting women conductors.

This evening’s program features Israeli-American cellist Inbal Segev playing DANCE, a concerto commissioned by Segev from Grammy-nominated composer Anna Clyne. Segev’s 2020 recording of DANCE topped Amazon’s classical concertos chart and was named one of NPR Music’s “Favorite Songs of 2020.”

First Friday at the Barnes includes access to the collection galleries and includes *exclusive access* to see their newest special exhibition—Sue Williamson & Lebohang Kganye: Tell Me What You Remember—before it opens to the public on March 5.  Tickets are $28 per person and can be purchased at barnesfoundation.org/whats-on
