The 13th Annual Philadelphia Honey Festival Is Coming and Features Workshops, Honey Cocktails, and Tastings

Hey honey lovers, here’s a sweet event for you to check out.  For the last several years we’ve been telling you about the Philadelphia Honey Festival and now in its 13th year, it’s bigger and better than ever. This year’s festival will take place September 8th, 10th, & 11th at three separate venues. The best part is the festival is free. However, a suggested donation is asked at participating venues.

On September 8th the honey festivities kick-off at Glen Foerd on the Delaware (5001 Grant Ave.) and will feature food from the Clean Plate Club food truck and the Haagen-Dazs ice cream truck. Enjoy honey-themed cocktails and drinks from Made with Mutual Respect Collective. Various vendors will sell their wares such as Honey Rose Botanicals, The Eco Joynt, and Duende Textiles. Guests can also participate in lawn games as they enjoy their treats.  The Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild will host multiple activities like honey extractions and a bee beard demonstration.

The festival then continues on September 10th at Wyck Historic House, Garden & Farm (6026 Germantown Ave.). Activities will include cider pressing, a honey extraction workshop, bee beard, hive talks, as well as The Beer and Mead Tent located in the Rose Garden. That’s right enjoy beer and honey cocktails in a rose garden for the perfect honey fest vibes.

Last but not least, the Philadelphia Honey Festival wraps things up on September 11th at Bartram’s Garden. Guests will enjoy open hive demos, honey extraction workshop. kids activities, story time with the Free Library of Philadelphia, live music and plenty of vendors.

The Philadelphia Honey Festival is produced by The Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild  and was created to raise awareness about the importance of honey bees to our environment, our food supply and our economy, and to promote urban beekeeping and gardening.
