Sidecar & Mike’s BBQ Are Hosting a Neighborhood Appreciation Block Party Featuring SNACKTIME

Sidecar Bar & Grille, along with Mike Strauss and his team from Mike’s BBQ, will be hosting a customer appreciation neighborhood block party on Saturday, September 10th from 12 to 6 p.m. The block party is Mike and his employees’ way to thank their customers for their unwavering support of the two restaurants since the pandemic started. The event will be held at the corner of 22nd and Christian Streets, outside of Sidecar.

Strauss and his team, including business partners Will Lindsay and Mike Metzger, will be roasting a whole pig, while the Sidecar crew will be providing burgers, Detroit style pizzas, chicken sausages, and sides. Small Oven Pastry Shop will be serving sweets, Milk Jawn will be on hand with various flavors of their premium ice cream, and Philadelphia’s Stockyard Cider Co. will be pouring ciders all day. There will also be vendors on hand selling art, clothing, and more, and there will be a water slide for kids.

“South Philly and Philadelphia as a whole has done so much for us since the pandemic started, continuously supporting us when the future of our restaurants was very uncertain,” said Strauss. “We decided to do something fun and show how appreciative we are of everyone who has supported us. We’re hoping for a beautiful day, and we expect a really big turnout to come and enjoy pig roast, pizza, burgers, ice cream and more as we wrap up another summer in Philly.”

For entertainment, Philly’s favorite band, SNACKTIME, will perform from 2 to 4 p.m., and DJ Lou Di Marco will spin music the remainder of the afternoon. No advanced tickets are necessary for the event, but guests will be able to purchase food and drink tickets on-hand when they arrive to the block party.
