Spruce Street Harbor Park is Reopening This Month With New Features Including a New Bar & Event Space and More

Probably Philly’s most popular city destinations to spend a summer evening is back. The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) just announced the reopening of Spruce Street Harbor Park along with some cool new features for guests.

Spruce Street Harbor Park is slated to reopen on Friday, May 24th and with changes underway for the new Park at Penn’s Landing continues, DRWC is has made a few updates of their own at Spruce Street.

Among the changes include new attractions and programming including The Lazy Hammock which features a covered bar, a new 20’ stage and performance venue including a 16’ video wall that will host watch parties and movies, and more. The bar menus at The Lazy Hammock and the all-bew The Blue Anchor will feature an emphasis on local beers and handcrafted cocktails, sponsored by Captain Morgan, Hornitos, and Jim Beam.

In addition, visitors to Spruce Street Harbor Park will be able to pop into the new corner store, “The Trading Post,” to pick up pints of ice cream from some of Philadelphia’s favorite homegrown ice cream makers, snacks, and merchandise from local vendors and artists. The Grove returns as the park’s go-to place to relax under the canopy of lighted trees, swing on a hammock, and take in the vibes. There will also be an upcoming announcement of new food vendors happening soon, so stay tuned for those updates.

The transformative Park at Penn’s Landing is being constructed in real time, promising a breathtaking backdrop as we rekindle our beloved summer traditions. From Memorial Day Weekend to the thrills of Independence Day and everything in between and beyond — excitement is in the air,” said DRWC President Joe Forkin. “Thanks to our partnership with Independence Blue Cross and the debut of an amazing new stage and marketplace at Spruce Street Harbor Park, a summer packed with more free programs and dazzling performances than ever before awaits. Dive into a summer to remember on the Delaware River Waterfront, where unforgettable memories are guaranteed.”

Park Season and Hours of Operation

The summer season at Spruce Street Harbor Park is anticipated to run from May 24 to September 29. Operating hours are set as follows:

● Monday to Thursday: 4 pm – 10 pm

● Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 11 am – 11 pm

Holiday hours will be announced closer to the dates, with special schedules for Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

Independence Blue Cross Summerfest

Independence Blue Cross Summerfest Season will open June 28. More exciting details will be announced in the upcoming weeks.
