Jet Wine Bar, Philadelphia’s “global vineyard,” is launching “One Week Abroad,” a new monthly wine tasting series transporting oenophiles to wine regions all over the world, including a South African Safari, Adriatic Voyage and Island Hopping in the Mediterranean. The series kicks off on Saturday, February 22nd with a Danube River Cruise, featuring wines and small plates from central European countries.

One week per month, Jet Wine Bar will celebrate a different culture featuring region specific wine tastings and food pairings. Each week will start with a Saturday night tasting experience of five wines paired with five small plates. The tastings will be a guided experience courtesy of Jill Weber, Owner of Jet Wine Bar and Wining Archaeologist, where guests will learn about the culture while enjoying wine and food. The Saturday wine tastings are $55/person. Tickets to each tasting can be purchased here.

“This series is for those overwhelmed with wanderlust looking for an all-encompassing wine tasting experience,” said Weber. “Not only will you get to enjoy wine and food native to these different regions, you’ll also get to learn about their culture and history. You’ll be transported to these different regions without leaving the comfort of Jet’s subterranean lounge in Philadelphia!”

The series kicks off on Saturday, February 22nd with a Danube River Cruise. The pairings include:

Brut Zweigelt Rosé Sekt, Weingut Nigl, Niederosterrich Austria
