So Someone Created a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Movie Drama and It Actually Looks Good!
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air doesn’t just hold a special place in Philly, it’s an international piece of TV history. The show which kicked-off in 1990, lasted 6 seasons and featured West Philly’s own Will Smith. Widely known as a comedy sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air did have its serious moments. The Uncle Phil/Will Smith dad episodes goes down as one of the most powerful scenes in 90’s TV but for the most part the show was just jokes.
Now it looks like someone is flipping the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air into a serious movie. That’s right there is a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air movie and the trailer will have you wanting to watch the full flick. The film which takes place in present day is entitled Bel-Air and is directed by Morgan Cooper. It‘s described as a “fan made film,” so neither Will Smith or the creators of the show have anything to do with this project. However, it features dramatizes scenes such as Will getting caught with a gun, meeting Jazzy-Jeff, to trying to fit into Bel-Air Academy and the whole nine. No word yet if and when the full version will be dropped but for now check out the trailer above.
