Side Project Wants to Reward Folks Who Can Give Up Drinking All January Long
Marcos Espinoza, the owner of Side Project Jerky, is taking “Dry January” – the health initiative which sees people give up alcohol for 31 days – and putting his own spin on it, calling it “Dried January,” a challenge which will see participants win prizes if they can make it through the month without consuming an alcoholic beverage.
Those looking to have a dry January in 2022 can participate in the challenge, which Espinoza said will have to rely on the honor code.
“This is an incentive to stick with it,” Espinoza said. “If you stay the course, we want to reward you. We know it won’t be easy for some, but as the month goes on, we’ll keep increasing the prizes that contestants can win. We hope to be able to give away a lot of jerky and swag.”
Side Project Jerky will offer prize packages including its special chef-driven jerky, along with Liquid Death Mountain Water and merchandise from each brand. The challenge will be social media-driven, with participants given the opportunity to join via an Instagram post. The challenge will begin onJanuary 1, 2022.
