SEPTA REQUIRES All Riders to Wear Face Masks!
Starting today SEPTA is requiring all riders to wear face masks. The decision was made last Friday and will be in effect for the foreseeable future.
SEPTA previously had the same policy. However, after a passengers was dragged off a SEPTA bus the the transportation entity switched from required to “urged”
Now it looks like SEPTA has flip flopped back to its original policy. There is no requirement as to how passengers face be covered, SEPTA just requires that is somehow be covered.
SEPTA General Manager Leslie Richards stated, “As the region enters the Yellow Phase, more people will be returning to work and riding SEPTA. We want to make sure our customers feel safe and comfortable on our system, and we will continue with an enhanced cleaning program system-wide. Also, riders have made it clear that requiring everyone to wear face coverings would help make them feel safe returning to transit, so we are putting a face-covering requirement in place on Monday.”
