Red Owl Tavern Celebrates Fifth Anniversary with Epic Crab Bash
The team at Red Owl Tavern is celebrating five years of serving up Modern American fare on Independence Mall with a spirited outdoor Crab Bash on Sunday, October 15, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. with live music, three types of crabs, wooden mallets and bibs — all with a view of Independence Mall.
Fans of copious crustaceans should head to Red Owl this Sunday and snag a street-side table at one of the city’s most historic intersections at 5th and Chestnut St., where Chef Caitlin Mateo will be serving up Snow Crab Clusters, King Crab Legs and seasonal Stone Crab Claws — along with $4 Yeungling drafts.
Local musician Daniel Kulisek will perform for bib-clad crab lovers outdoors, singing classic rock and other crowd favorites.
Stone Crabs will run on special at Red Owl Tavern throughout the remainder of October.
“We were inspired by the start of stone crab claw season and thought it would be the perfect opportunity to celebrate our fifth anniversary. Plus, it would be fun to do one last outdoor event before the weather starts to get cold,” said Executive Chef Caitlin Mateo.
