Philly’s Newest Water Ice Shop, Really Ice, Is Hosting a Grand Opening Celebration With Music, Giveaways & Plenty of Water Ice
A new frozen treat destination is coming to North Philadelphia. Really Ice, owned by entrepreneur Dean Owens, holds its Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, July 25 at 2620 N 22nd Street — bringing a homemade water ice shop, Dole Whip, and a non-dairy ice cream lineup to the neighborhood.
Dean got his start in the industry working at an ice cream shop in high school and comes from a family of entrepreneurs. The concept for Really Ice developed over several years, driven less by business ambition and more by a desire to create something meaningful for the community.
“I wanted a Center City feel but a North Philly spirit, an uptown heart, a West Philly swag,” says Dean. “Ultimately, we wanted to create something the community would be proud of, and I think we did.”
The interior design was developed by Dean alongside his cousin @acorihonzo. “I’ve been working on this concept for years and have given everything I had to build this idea brick by brick,” he says. “To finally see it open and see people love the design is like a dream come true.”
Really Ice makes its water ice in-house, resulting in a rotating lineup of flavors that extends well beyond the usual offerings. The shop is also among a small number of locations in the tri-state area carrying Dole Whip, available in up to three rotating flavors daily. The ice cream selection is non-dairy, with Vanilla and the house-exclusive Blue Hawaiian as the current offerings.

Saturday’s grand opening event will include free tastings, water ice discounts, and free water ice coupons for future visits. Doors open at 11 AM.
Regular hours going forward are Monday through Saturday, 11 AM to 8 PM, and Sunday from 1 PM to 8 PM.
