Philadelphia Film Society is Hosting Black Cinema Week Featuring 10 Flicks Including Love Jones, Menace II Society, Belly & More
The Philadelphia Film Society is no stranger to hosting specially curated series of various themes including Anime, horror, and holiday movies. However, just in time for Black History Month, PFS will be hosting a special series in celebration of Black Cinema with an classic lineup of curated screenings and programs at theFilm Society Center, located at 1412 Chestnut Street in Philadelphia.
Chances are if you’re a movie buff you already have most if not all of these in your collection. The Black Cinema Week offers a range of artistic expressions with mixers and quizzos accompanying the screenings. Jet Magazine covers by Shaheed Rucker honoring film icons will be on display Jan. 31 – Feb. 6 at the Film Society Center.
