PA Turnpike Commission Gave $2 Million to Study the Feasibility of a Hyperloop from Philly to Pittsburgh
Imagine being able to travel from Philly to Pittsburgh in 30 minutes. Well it could be a reality and the PA Turnpike Commission just laid down some serious cash to research the feasibility. A $2 million contract was given to a consultant to review if Elon Musk’s hyperloop could work in the Keystone State.
The hyperloop would take passengers on a 700 m.p.h trip through an underground tube. Passengers would be seated in pods.
The study which is expected to be completed sometime next years will look into the environmental impact of the hyperloop. As you may remember a similar project was proposed in California but those plans have since stalled.
It may prove to be a challenge to create this hyperloop closer to the mountainous Pittsburgh terrain but we shall see what the experts have to say. What to you think is this a wast of money? Let us know in our social media comments!
