Old City’s New Restaurant Frame Officially Opens and Offers Late Night Bites

New to the Philadelphia restaurant scene this week is elevated late-night restaurant, Frame — an inventive, yet nostalgic American-fusion concept designed to immerse the senses through edgy food and drink choice. Centered around locally sourced ingredients, Frame offers a variety of dining options from seasonal dishes and vegan offerings to late-night bites and reimagined childhood favorites. Located in Philadelphia’s Old City neighborhood, the sultry social hub offers extended menu hours throughout the week and weekend, marking itself as a transportive experience best enjoyed amongst friends.

Inspired by the unknown, Frame is to be discovered — revealing thought provoking, intentional design to those who venture through its doors. Marked by a subtle emblem, the entry point gives way to an alluring dining space, housing jewel toned booth seating, velvet adorned brick walls, and an extensive wrap around bar — offering a total of 60 seats dispersed throughout the intimate venue. Playing on a choose your own adventure format, the space intends to frame each experience around the individual, encouraging guests to interact with curiosity each visit and form their own unique interpretations. Frame reimagines the space formerly known as Marmont Steakhouse & Bar — co-founded by previous ownership, along with owner of former Philadelphia nightlife venue, Denim Lounge.

“Frame reflects a sense of consistent change, reminiscent of the evolving city and people of Philadelphia” said designer Jeff Low, “the intentional design reminds us that change is inevitable, how we frame ourselves and experiences is ever-changing, and that growth is meant to be discovered and celebrated amongst friends.”

Frame blends art, history, and culture through eclectic American fusion cuisine, featuring locally inspired menu offerings, intertwined with unexpected twists of global flavor. Executive chef and Philadelphia local, Brianna Wellmon brings her love of global cuisine and artistic presentation to the Frame menu, pulling inspiration from her Philadelphia upbringing along with travel overseas. The passionate chef offers guests an ever-evolving, locally sourced dinner menu in addition to a late night “way back menu” featuring an extraordinary reimagination of childhood favorites.

A diverse selection of menu items accommodates a variety of dining preferences, highlighting vegan and gluten free offerings through menu favorites like “sausage” ragout, and vegan “beef” & broccoli. Non-vegan offerings showcase a variety of premium meats including braised pork belly, and berebere-spiced filet mignon; while the nostalgic late-night menu includes conversation starters like the “bomb-ass PB&J” featuring deep fried hawaiian bread with jam & peanut filling, in addition to beef in a blanket served with apricot mustard & spicy ketchup.

“I wanted the Frame menu to reflect beautiful things unique to Philadelphia, express what I’ve come to appreciate about this city, and represent the diversity of our community,” says Brianna Wellmon of her inspiration while creating the Frame menu. “I’ve always wanted to come back and take care of my city.”

The Frame bar menu includes smart cocktails that effortlessly complement its global influence. “Midnight Rendezvous” cocktail elevates a simple favorite with a blend of sparkling champagne and raspberry liquor, enhanced by bitters; while the “Pisco Sour” appeals to the daring, made with Pisco, citrus, egg white, and angostura bitters. In addition to an extensive cocktail menu, Frame offers a broad, yet intentional variety of spirits, diverse choice of wine-by-the-glass, and a tasteful selection of local and imported beer — ensuring premium beverage choices for wine lovers and cocktail enthusiasts alike.

Frame will be open for dinner from Wednesday – Sunday, offering unique extended late night menu hours on Friday-Saturday 11:00 p.m. – 2 a.m.
