Art in the Age, Old City’s one-of-a-kind tasting room, home bar supply and bottle shop, is pleased to announce its newest spirit release, Shane Confectionery Cacao Whiskey, a small-batch malt whiskey available while supplies last at Art in the Age, starting December 10.

Shane Confectionery Cacao Whiskey is distilled at New Liberty Distillery in collaboration with Shane Confectionery, the longest running confectionery business in the United States, by blending New Liberty’s pot-distilled malted barley whiskey with cacao nibs, resulting in a truly unique spirit.

“Shane Confectionery is the longest running confectionery business in the United States, operating on Market street in Philadelphia since 1863. The roots of New Liberty Distillery’s Kinsey Whiskey date back to the 1870s. Together, they’ve created a malt whiskey that pays tribute to their history of bringing delicious treats to Philadelphians” said Steven Grasse, Founder of Art in the Age and Quaker City Mercantile.

With a 45ABV, Shane Confectionery Cacao Whiskey is best-celebrated neat, on the rocks or in simple cocktails. This specialty spirit is extremely limited and can be purchased exclusively at Art in the Age for $44.99.

Guests can also enjoy the limited-release whiskey in the Confectionery Cocoa Cocktail ($13), a decadent spiked hot chocolate, courtesy of Art in the Age Mixologist Lee Noble – available starting Monday, December 10 (while supplies last) at the Art in the Age Tasting Room.

“Winter is hot chocolate season for me, so when I tasted this whiskey I knew exactly what to do with it,” said Noble. “Think of the Confectionery Cocoa cocktail as a warm embrace against chilly weather. The recipe highlights the chocolate notes from the whiskey, with a hint of cinnamon and vanilla to tie all the flavors together.”

The Confectionery Cocoa cocktail combines Shane Confectionery Cacao Whiskey with Thomas Jefferson’s Drinking Chocolate, cinnamon bitters and natural vanilla extract for the perfect spiked hot chocolate this winter.
