Now + Then Marketplace Closes Out The Oval With Final Market of the Season

Now + Then Marketplace will host its signature Oval Closer on Sunday, September 14, from 1 to 7 p.m. at Eakins Oval, 2451 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, directly in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The free, family- and dog-friendly event marks the fourth year the marketplace has helped close out The Oval’s summer season.

The Oval Closer will feature more than 100 local vendors, offering everything from handmade art and jewelry to vintage clothing and unique goods. Visitors can also enjoy live entertainment, mini golf, and seasonal drinks in the beer garden while soaking up the last weekend of summer in the city.

“It’s been the quintessential Philly summer experience,” said organizer Steph Irwin, reflecting on this year’s run at The Oval.

While the Oval Closer concludes the summer season, Now + Then Marketplace has a full calendar ahead. Upcoming events include a Mega Market with Phila Flea in October, the Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby, and a Holiday Market later this year. In addition, the group continues to host its weekly Farmers Market (Saturdays) and Vintage Market (Sundays) at 2418 Martha Street.
