Need to Get Rid of Your Christmas Tree? The Philly Goat Project’s Tree Cycling Festival and Fundraiser is Next Month
The the holidays are winding down and like most people you’re just not sure when the tree should come down or what to do with it. Well, if you want to find a way to dispose of your tree and help with a great cause then be sure to check out the Philly Goat Project’s annual Tree Recycling Fundraiser.
Philly Goat Project’s “Tree Cycling” is a farm festival and a fundraiser for their non profit located at The Farm at Awbury Arboretum (6336 Ardleigh St.). A suggested donation of $20 per tree is asked to help support Philly Goat Project’s free programming all year long that includes goat walks, reading with the goats at libraries and environmental education in city parks. Christmas trees will be used to make wood chips that will eventually be used for trails and gardens around Philly.
Festival days are January 8th (Jan. 9th rain day) and January 22nd (Jan. 23rd rain day). The festival is free and you don’t need a tree to join in the fun. Enjoy exploring the farm, staying warm by the fire pit, sipping hot cocoa and our petting area with the goats. No reservations needed,Two options: park and walk into the farm and bring your tree or curbside Drop-off-and-Donate option available during 12-3 pm.
