Mural Arts Wants Your Personal Photos For a Major Online Mural Project!
In celebration of Wawa Welcome America the Mural Arts program is currently working on a very ambitious project on their website. Over 500 people have submitted personal photos to be apart of an online mosaic on the site.
A software program is taking submitted photos and creating a digital mosaic of Philadelphia’s skyline. The project is being spearheaded by West Philadelphia artist Nilé Livingston as part of his “Philly Rising” project.
Visitors can check out the site and see the progress of the mosaic as it continues to take form. If you would like to be apart of the project, Mural Arts is asking participants to submit photos that “embodies the Philadelphia spirt.” Mural Arts executive director Jane Golden added, “(Philadelphia Rising) serves as a snapshot of what people are thinking during this time period that’s been so complex and traumatic. “We instinctively wanted to work with (Livingston) because she is a multitasker in her talents.”
