Mochinut Donut is Planning on Opening Three New Locations in Philly
Okay, if you’ve never heard of Mochinut, it’s okay we’ll get you up to speed. Mochinut is a donut that originated from Hawaii which is a combination of American doughnuts and Japanese mochi. Mochinut is gaining popularity owing to its unique shape and wonderful texture; light crispy coating with a soft chewy inside.
Mochinut has several locations across the U.S and are also located overseas including the U.K, Thailand, and South Korea. Now they’re bringing their unique spin on donuts to Philly. According to their website, “Mochi Donuts are made with rice flour. The rice flour makes Mochi Donuts stretchy and chewy. There is a sticky addictiveness to each bite, a textural element that is completely different from yeast or cake donuts. Mochinut is receiving attention from people for its unique shape which is made of a connected circle of 8 dough balls.”
In addition to their donuts, Mochinut also serves unique corndogs and bubble teas. Although no exact opening date has been given, word is their Northern Liberties location at 802 N. 2nd St. is slated to open this month. Additional locations include Chinatown at 1023 Arch St. as well as 108 Chestnut St. in Old City. Stay tuned for more updates.
