Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition Opens This Month at The Fashion District for a Limited Time
Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition, a breathtaking collection of his renowned ceiling frescoes from the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel, is true to size, hands-free, and perfect for our socially distanced yet innovative world. This exhibit relies on a spacious area – 10,000 feet – where Michelangelo’s masterpieces stretch floor-to-ceiling. Timed ticketing limits capacity and physical distancing guidelines provided by public health administrators are in place, to ensure a COVID-safe environment.

Biallas produced the exhibition after seeing the ceiling frescoes in person. “When I visited the Sistine Chapel in Rome, there were long lines and we were rushed through. This exhibit at Fashion District Philadelphia allows everyone an opportunity to see the amazing art at their pace and up-close, at an affordable price, and enjoy an inspiring and unforgettable experience.”
Through 34 artfully displayed reproductions, this innovative presentation is suitable for all audiences and includes world-renowned pieces like The Creation of Adam and The Last Judgement. The ceiling paintings from the Sistine Chapel have been brought to life with expertise and care, using a special printing technique that emulates the look and feel of the original paintings. Guests are given a chance to engage with the artwork in ways that were never before possible: seeing every detail, every brushstroke, and every color of the artist’s frescoes. Each image is accompanied by informative signage, and audio guides are available to rent for an even more in-depth experience.
The limited-time Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition opens Jan. 21 at Fashion District Philadelphia, 9th & Market Street. Tickets sold Wednesday – Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Tickets start at about $19 for adults, $13 for youth.
