McDonald’s Just Unveiled Their New Spicy Nuggets and Chips Ahoy! McFlurry

Looks like McDonald’s wants to cash in on the spicy chicken craze with a new menu item.  The global fast-food chain just announced that they will be serving a spicy version of their already popular Chicken McNuggets.

The Spicy McNuggets will be available for a limited time starting September 16th McDonald’s stated that the new Spicy McNuggets will be breaded with a tempura coating made of both cayenne and chili peppers.  McNuggets were first introduced to the menu in 1983 and this is the first time in history McDonalds has created a new flavor for them.

Linda VanGosen, vice president of menu innovation at McDonald’s stated “As our customers have been asking for Spicy McNuggets for some time now, we couldn’t think of a better time to bring them to our menus.”

Obviously McDonald’s is looking to got head-to-head with rivals Wendy’s and Burger King in the battle of the spicy nuggets.

Spicy McNuggets aren’t the only new item McDonald’s is looking to offer.  The franchise is also introducing a Chips Ahoy! McFlurry, which features vanilla soft-serve ice cream, caramel topping and Chips Ahoy! cookie pieces.
