Juneteenth Wellness & Arts Festival Returns to Philly With a Family-Friendly Celebration of Culture, Community, and Well-Being

Philadelphia’s Juneteenth celebrations continue this summer as the Juneteenth Wellness & Arts Festival returns to Cherry Street Pier on Saturday, June 20, bringing together live music, wellness experiences, local vendors, and community resources for an afternoon dedicated to culture, connection, and healthy living.

Taking place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., the free festival welcomes attendees of all ages and marks a new chapter for the event. Formerly known as the Juneteenth Wine & Arts Festival, organizers have reimagined the gathering as a fully inclusive, wellness-centered experience focused on accessibility, holistic health, and community engagement.

This year’s event embraces a zero-proof format, replacing alcohol offerings with handcrafted mocktails while expanding wellness programming and family-friendly activities throughout the day.

The Juneteenth Wellness & Arts Festival was created to honor the legacy of Juneteenth while providing a space where residents can celebrate culture, support local businesses, access valuable health resources, and connect with their community.

Festival producer Shekhinah B. says the evolution of the event reflects a growing desire to create gatherings that prioritize both celebration and well-being.

The festival will feature a diverse lineup of activities designed to engage attendees of all ages, from live entertainment and fitness classes to health screenings and interactive arts experiences.

Music will serve as a centerpiece of the day’s festivities with performances from acclaimed artists Barbara Sheree and Lady Stout.

Barbara Sheree will open the event, setting the tone for an afternoon of empowerment and celebration, while Lady Stout will headline the festival with a performance showcasing her signature blend of soul, jazz, and spoken word influences.

Guests can also expect crowd engagement activities and entertainment throughout the day.

A major focus of this year’s festival is promoting physical, mental, and emotional wellness through accessible programming and community partnerships.

Attendees will have access to:

  • Free health screenings
  • Wellness resources and information
  • Yoga sessions
  • Group fitness experiences
  • Line dancing led by DJ Neeek Nyce
  • Mental health and counseling resources
  • Community health organizations

Participating wellness partners include Keystone First, Fitman Performance and Physique, Yoga 4 Philly, COMHAR, Inc., and LaTonya McCurry Counseling Services.

In addition to wellness programming, the festival will feature a vibrant marketplace showcasing local entrepreneurs and artisans from across Philadelphia.

Visitors can shop from vendors specializing in:

  • Food and beverages
  • Fashion and accessories
  • Beauty and skincare products
  • Home décor
  • Art and handcrafted goods

The marketplace offers attendees an opportunity to support small businesses while discovering unique products from local creators.

One of the festival’s most distinctive features is its commitment to creating a welcoming alcohol-free environment.

Guests can visit the festival’s mocktail experience, where expertly crafted non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase in commemorative festival glasses ranging from $15 to $20.

The mocktail bar reinforces the event’s mission of creating inclusive spaces where everyone can participate regardless of age or lifestyle choices.

As Juneteenth celebrations continue to evolve, the Juneteenth Wellness & Arts Festival demonstrates how communities can honor history while promoting wellness, economic empowerment, and social connection.

By combining music, culture, health, and entrepreneurship, the festival creates a meaningful space where attendees can celebrate freedom, support local businesses, access valuable resources, and invest in their overall well-being.
