Join the Philadelphia Film Society to Celebrate the Year in Film at the 9th Annual Oscars® Party & Screening
The Philadelphia Film Society (PFS) is very excited to be hosting our 9th Annual Oscars® Party & Screening at the Philadelphia Film Center (1412 Chestnut Street) on Sunday, March 27.
The 2022 Award Season officially kicked off this morning with the announcement of the nominees for the 94th Academy Awards! You can be a part of the excitement of Award Season when you join the Philadelphia Film Society at the 9th Annual Oscars® Party & Screening. Find out who will take home the most prestigious award in film while walking the red carpet as the awards show streams live on the biggest screen in Center City. Guests will enjoy light fare, signature cocktails, a raffle, and special prizes.
THE POWER OF THE DOG led today’s Oscar Nominations with a total of 12 nods including Best Picture and a Best Director nomination for Jane Campion. With the sci-fi adaptation DUNE coming in second with a total of 10 nods. PFF30 films BELFAST, DRIVE MY CAR, and KING RICHARD received several nominations including being added to the running for Best Picture.
Other top nominated films include DON’T LOOK UP, NIGHTMARE ALLEY, and WEST SIDE STORY, which all screened at either the PFS Bourse, PFS Drive-In at the Navy Yard or Philadelphia Film Center.
Between the Philadelphia Film Festival and year-round programming at the Bourse, Film Center, and Drive-In, as well as Member exclusive advance screenings, the Philadelphia Film Society brought 22 Academy Award-nominated films to Philadelphia, with a total of 67 nominations between them.
Tickets are currently available to purchase for the 9th Annual Oscars® Party & Screening taking place on Sunday, March 27. Guests can choose between three different ticket levels: the General Admission ticket, which is $60 ($50 for PFS Members), the new A-List ticket, which is $100 ($80 for PFS Members), or the VIP, which is $200 ($175 for PFS Members).
With a VIP ticket, guests start the party one hour early, and enjoy gourmet catering and desserts until the final statue is presented. Guests are also welcome to watch the ceremony from the Mainstage or the exclusive VIP Lounge, open throughout the night. VIP Tickets include signature cocktails, gift bag, and a champagne toast to celebrate an extraordinary year in film. With the new A-List ticket, guests get to step onto the red carpet before General Admission to enjoy an hour more complimentary drinks, food, and Hollywood star treatment. The General Admission ticket allows for guests to enjoy complimentary drinks, lite bites, and a raffle, all while watching the Academy Awards on the biggest screen in Center City.
All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the Film Society’s mission to create opportunities for diverse audiences to experience film through initiatives that inspire, educate, challenge, and entertain.
As of Monday January 3, Philadelphia establishments that sell food or drink for consumption onsite will require that everyone who enters has completed their COVID vaccinations. Completing vaccinations means that they have received two doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. All guests will be required to show vaccination verification before entry and remain masked when not eating or drinking.
