Independence Seaport Museum’s Cruiser Olympia is Hosting a 1920’s Themed Speakeasy With a Live Band & More
If you ever been by the Independence Seaport Museum (211 S Christopher Columbus Blvd.) located along the Delaware River, chances are you’ve seen Cruiser Olympia docked. Commissioned in 1895, Cruiser Olympia is the oldest steel American warship still afloat. This historical vessel will now be the site of Philly’s newest adult-only speakeasy experience.
Taking place from 6 pm-9 pm on June 9th, July 14th, August 11th and October 13th, guests can climb aboard and step into a 1920s speakeasy experience complete with a live jazz band, curated cocktails, and participate in period-accurate card and dice games that service members played.
While having a roaring good time, guests will also get to earn all about this amazing ship that was used by the United States Navy in various battles including World War 1. Additionally, Olympia’s main and top decks will be open with options to join informal tours that will take place throughout the night while learning about what it was like serving in the United States Navy during prohibition.
This event is 21+ and tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door while ISM Members receive a 20% discount. One free drink is included with your ticket as well, so bottoms up.
