Honey Suckle Provisions to Host The Legacy Dinner Series Featuring a Five Course Afro Caribbean Dinner by Chef Chaz Brown
To kick-off Black History Month, Honey Suckle Provisions (631 N, Broad St.) will be hosting a special pop-up dinner on Saturday February 1st. The dinner will apart of The Legacy Dinner Experience which will consist of nationwide dinners as part of a fundraiser series.
The Philadelphia stop will feature Chef Chaz Brown of the Oxtail Exchange which is an Afro-Caribbean food brand currently operating as a pop-up. Taking place at Honey Suckle Provisions new space, guests will get to experience a five-course dinner with musical vibes that includes a mix of soca, dancehall, reggae, Caribbean, and Afrobeat music, enhancing the immersive Afro-Caribbean experience.
The producers of the series include The Veraison Project (TVP): A non-profit dedicated to helping professionals start or grow their wine careers through programs that include:
- Future Leaders Program: A yearlong fellowship with an annual trip to a European wine region.
- BRIDGE Program: Financial assistance for wine career advancement.
- Apprenticeship Programs: Yearlong placements with vineyards and winemakers.
As well as Jason Woloshin, Founder of Mise Strategy who is a a branding and design consultant specializing in hospitality, food & beverage, and wine & spirits is also apart of the events team.
So how did this dinner come about? In Summer 2024, Chef Chaz collaborated with Tahiirah Habibi’s 4th Annual Wine+Culture Festival in Washington, D.C., hosting the kick-off dinner and catering the award ceremony brunch. TVP was a sponsor, presenter, and award winner at the festival. Impressed by Chef Chaz’s culinary talent, they reached out to collaborate for this series’ inaugural event.
In total The Legacy Series will feature four dinners that are currently scheduled for 2025. Exact dates will be announced soon via TVP. As for Chef Chaz Brown, he’s poised to open his flagship location in 2025. Tickets are available now on Eventbrite. See full menu below:
