Hey Steak Lovers: The All-New Steakhouse, Rockwell & Rose, Is Opening at the Curtis Center This Fall

Philly’s dining scene is about to get a fresh new flavor this fall. The team behind P.J. Clarke’s is bringing an all-new concept to the historic Curtis Center: Rockwell & Rose, a modern steakhouse and seafood restaurant set to debut this October.

Rockwell & Rose is designed as a departure from the traditional steakhouse model, replacing the darker, formal aesthetic with a lighter palette and a more relaxed atmosphere. The menu will feature prime steaks, a selection of fresh seafood, a nightly raw bar, and a cocktail program, all served in a space that emphasizes approachability alongside elevated dining

The restaurant’s name pays tribute to both the Curtis Building’s storied past and a deeply personal family legacy.

  • Rockwell nods to the iconic Norman Rockwell illustrations once published in The Saturday Evening Post, produced right inside the Curtis.

  • Rose carries layered meaning: inspired by Rosie the Riveter, it also reflects the restaurant’s warm color palette and honors co-owner Phil Scotti’s mother, Rose Scotti.

As co-creator Tim Killeen puts it:

“We wanted to create something new, not the same old steakhouse done time and time again.”

Rockwell & Rose promises a menu that blends steakhouse classics with versatility and surprise. Highlights include:

  • Exceptional steaks and the freshest seafood sourced from local purveyors

  • Live raw bar service nightly, with oysters, shrimp, and Maine lobster shucked to order

  • Towering seafood platters built right at your table

  • Scratch-made pastas, French Onion Soup Dumplings, twin broiled lobster tails, and jumbo lump crab cakes

  • Creative desserts designed to stand out, not be an afterthought

  • Options for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diners

The bar program will split into two personalities:

  • Rockwell: timeless classics and reimagined favorites, done right

  • Rose: playful, creative cocktails—some floral, some unexpected

Rockwell & Rose will span four distinct spaces, each telling its own story:

  • The Walnut Room – with sweeping views of Washington Square Park

  • The Rockwell Dining Room – featuring a grand central table for up to 15 guests

  • The Rose Room – an intimate private dining space

  • The Oyster Bar – cozy, lively, and perfect for seafood lovers

Together, these create an atmosphere that’s bright, colorful, and inviting, far removed from the dim, heavy aesthetic of traditional steakhouses.
