Hey Millennials, Want to Relive Your Childhood? Latchkey and The 8th House are Hosting a “Grown Ass Book Fair”

Remember those days where you walked in like a boss to the Scholastic Book Fair? Maybe it was for a Goosebumps book or a Lamberghini Poster or some stationary for your Trapper Keeper. Either way, Latchkey and The 8th House are looking to restore that feeling.

Latchkey ,East Passyunk Avenue’s one-stop-shop for vinyl & vintage items is collaborating with The 8th House (1648 S. 17th), which features ethical witchy vibes and indie goods, to hold the inaugural Grown Ass Book Fair on Saturday, May 27 from 12 – 4pm.  Attendees to the Grown Ass Book Fair which will be held at Latchkey (1502 E. Passyunk), will have the opportunity to relive the magic of your grade school  book fair at Latchkey with a host of nostalgic goods available for purchase including books, zines, stickers, VHS tapes, friendship bracelets, and more.

The Grown Ass Book Fair will see the debut of Latchkey’s graphic novel collection. Graphic novels sold at Latchkey will also be 20% off cover price.

Additionally, the 90s and early 2000s-inspired book fair will feature fun throwback activities as well. Attendees can glimpse their future through the past via tarot card readings with a 90’s twist or fuel up for more fun by digging into some adult “Lunchables.” Customers dressed for the occasion will receive 10% off their Grown Ass Book Fair purchases; butterfly clips and jellies are encouraged. The best of the “middle school”-dressed may walk away with a free Tamagotchi virtual pet for their efforts (while supplies last). To make lasting memories, Polaroid photos will be available for $3 and can be taken in front of Latchkey’s “Teen Hearthrob” wall, a collage favorite faces from back in the day.
