Hamilton Tickets for the Philadelphia Show Will Soon Be On Sale! Here’s the Catch…
What was and is to this day one of the hardest tickets to get in New York will now be the hardest ticket to get in Philly. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical Hamilton will run at The Forrest Theatre August 27th until November 17th. The first steps to purchasing tickets for this uber popular play has now begun.
The online “ticket process” opened Monday at 10 a.m and will remain open until midnight on Thursday. This is only the first step. Yup, the actual tickets go on sale July 9th but registration to buy a ticket runs this week. Registering to buy doesn’t even guarantee you’ll get a ticket. The tickets themselves run from $127-$197 (plus fees) with a choice of premium seating for $497 a seat. Tickets are limited to 4 tickets per household. For those on a budget and or extremely lucky, 40 tickets will be available at $10 a pop by way of a pre-show lottery for each performance. Consider these tickets like Willy Wonka’s golden ticket.
The registration process was put in place not to frustrate folks looking to go but rather to deter scalpers and bots. For online sales you must first register at Telecharge.com/Hamilton.
The registration will help Telecharge determine that you’re an actual buyer. Then once verified, you’ll be placed in a random drawing. Winners will then be announced July 3rd via email. Winners of the drawing will be given an access code to then shop for their tickets online on July 9th.
If you want to do things the old fashioned way, there will be a limited number of physical tickets at The Forrest Theatre box office on July 9th. However, you cannot camp out for tickets as the line can only start at 7 am. Folks in line will then receive a color-coded wristband. Each color will be given various 30 minute slots throughout the day to come back and purchase tickets. As you may have already guessed there will be a limited number of colored wrist bands.
Yes, not even the Super Bowl is as tough to get into. So for those looking to score tickets good luck!
