FOND Will Temporarily Pivot to Become a Prepared Foods Market and Take-Away Restaurant!

Like all of us in 2020, Fond, the acclaimed contemporary American restaurant on Passyunk Square, has learned to pivot, adapt and become more nimble than previously thought possible. And with the colder weather settling in, Fond will temporarily re-concept as FOND For All, a prepared foods market and take-away restaurant featuring foods that are in keeping with its tradition of rich, full flavors, but foods meant to be enjoyed at home.

Additionally, Fond For All will feature a full menu of prepared items and simple two-step meal kits designed to bring the rich flavors of Fond home with options for all. Dishes may be ordered à la carte or in a three-course prix fixe for $40. Some of the featured items on the first menu include Fond favorites such as Smoked Salmon Rillette, Roasted Mushroom Soup and Chicken Liver Mouse. Red Curry Chicken Stir Fry with coconut rice and Short Rib Burgundy round out the menu.

“Part of the FOND For All concept is that everyone can enjoy their favorite Fond dish at home. Also, even-though dining out is a luxury, we wanted to address issues of equity in our community.”

Fond For All will become a drop-off point for those wishing to donate, along with the Styers, to area food pantries. Additionally, FOND For All will offer two items at all times at cost, to offer an affordable option — for all. Off the first menu, launching Thursday, November 5, those ordering from FOND For All can enjoy hearty and seasonal Cassoulet for just $5 per pint, and a bag of freshly made Spiced Molasses Cookies, $3 for a bag of six.

As the weather cooled, Chefs Lee Styer and Jessie Prawlucki-Styer contemplated opening Fond’s intimate dining room to limited capacity, but ultimately decided that what’s best for them, their staff and to serve the public, is FOND For All.

FOND For All will also sell wine, bread, and other items for the table and to complete the at-home dining experience.

The restaurant originally opened its doors as BYOB in 2009, offering 28 seats to start. After moving to its current location adjacent to Philadelphia’s popular East Passyunk Avenue in 2012, Chef-owners Lee Styer and Jessie Prawlucki grew the restaurant to 50 seats and added a stellar bar program, full wine list and 16 outdoor seats. The globally-inspired menu has been consistent over the years but saw exciting additions due to a bigger kitchen and more room at 1537 South 11th Street. Styer and Prawlucki’s style is contemporary American and evolved over the time.

  • Outdoor tables and service available  — weather permitting.
