Wine 101

Wine 101 isn’t just a wine tasting class; it’s a phenomenon. So beloved is this course that, on many occasions, more names crowd the waitlist than the class roster itself. Yet, what you might not realize is that teaching Wine 101 is the proving ground, the forge through which every successful sommelier-instructor must pass. It’s as close as one can get to a guarantee of success in the wine trade.

Of the eleven sommelier-instructors who have taken on this mantle, two have gone on to critique restaurants; three have penned bestselling books, two have joined the ranks of academia as university professors, and one has become an editor of food and wine. And yes, two still proudly teach at the school.
