Dilworth Park is Hosting Pop-up Events Everyday This Week! Check Out the Schedule!

It’s already mid-August which means summer is about to wind down.  However, even with all the restrictions in place for the city it doesn’t mean you still can’t have a little fun.  Dilworth Park is looking to bring some positive vibes to Center City with a series of pop-up events all this week.  From circus performers to dinners, to live music, there’s a bit of something for everyone.  Check out the full list of this week’s events below and start planning your outing today.

 

Monday, August 17: Pop-Up in the Park, Circus Arts, 1 p.m.

–       A whimsical surprise performer will roam through the park while guests enjoy the spectacle from afar. As always, guests should mask up.

 

Monday, August 17: Center City Fit presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, 6 p.m.-7p.m.

–       Guests of all skill levels are invited to participate in Zumba® at Dilworth Park! Expert instructor Dwayne Townsend will lead intense workouts disguised as lively dance parties set to Latin and pop music. These classes are first come, first served and limited to 50 people. As always, guests should mask up.

 

Tuesday, August 18: Pop-Up in the Park, Music Program, 12 p.m.-1 p.m.

–       Enjoy original songs and upbeat covers as local singer-songwriters perform for guests strolling through the park. Today’s artist, James Reese, is a Philadelphia native who began paving the way to a successful career by playing the trumpet in Andrew Hamilton Elementary School’s orchestra. As always, guests should mask up.

 

Tuesday, August 18: Center City Fit presented by Rothman Orthopaedics, 6 p.m.-7p.m.

–       Boot Camp is back with expert trainer Guy Nanni! Participants should be ready to sweat during this cardio-blasting workout. These classes are first come, first served and limited to 50 people. As always, guests should mask up.

 

Wednesday, August 19: PNC presents Live @ Lunch, 12 p.m.-1 p.m.

–       Park visitors can enjoy live music as local musicians perform in the PNC Terrace. Today’s performer, Suzann Christine, is a singer-songwriter that has become a key fixture in the city’s music scene. As always, guests should mask up.

 

Wednesday, August 19: Dinner at Dilworth, 5 p.m.-9 p.m.

–       Visitors are encouraged to bring takeout meals from nearby restaurants to enjoy in the park surrounded by lush greenery, colorful umbrellas and the dancing fountain. Dinner will be offered at the Air Grille and Dilworth Park Café, along with cocktails to-go. Live entertainment will be provided from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tonight’s group, Trinidelphia, is a Philadelphia-based Caribbean fusion band. As always, guests should mask up.

 

Thursday, August 20: PNC presents Live @ Lunch, 12 p.m.-1 p.m.

–       Park visitors can enjoy live music as local musicians perform in the PNC Terrace. Today’s performer, V. Shayne Frederick, is a pianist, vocalist, arranger and music director with over a decade of stunning performance. As always, guests should mask up.

 

Thursday, August 20: Dinner at Dilworth, 5 p.m.-9 p.m.

–       Visitors are encouraged to bring takeout meals from nearby restaurants to enjoy in the park surrounded by lush greenery, colorful umbrellas and the dancing fountain. Dinner will be offered at the Air Grille and Dilworth Park Café, along with cocktails to-go. Monday, August 17: Parkway Pals, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

–       Music Program: Guests of all ages are invited to relax on the lawn as local singer-songwriters perform. Today’s artist, Joy Ike, crafts music that is both soaring and plaintive. As always, guests should mask up.

 

Wednesday, August 19: Parkway Pals, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

–       Story Art: The Free Library of Philadelphia will lead Story Art with individual arts & crafts and a fun story reading. As always, guests should mask up.

 

CCD and the parks’ café operators have implemented increased health safety procedures throughout the parks and visitors are reminded to adhere to all CDC guidelines. CCD staff are all wearing masks and are cleaning surfaces frequently. Anyone who feels sick, or has come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 14 days, should refrain from entering the parks. In accord with CDC, State and City guidelines, all guests over the age of 2 are required to wear a mask.
