Cuba Libre is Offering Bonuses, Cryptocurrency investments & Language Lessons For New Hires!
After a year of tight pandemic restrictions and as a result of an unprecedentedly tight labor market, Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar locations in Philadelphia and Atlantic City are offering increased wages and new employee benefits that could total hundreds of thousands of dollars companywide. As Philadelphia’s restrictions are set to be relaxed on May 21st and further on June 11th, and New Jersey’s loosening likely to be announced soon, the popular Cuban restaurant and nightlife locations are seeking to fill more than 60 hourly positions.
The new incentives bolster Cuba Libre’s line level employees’ earnings, which average over $20 per hour companywide. Among the enticements are first-year welcome bonuses totaling $250 and the opportunity for current and new employees to make thousands more in $600 bonuses for each new recruit referred. To spotlight its tech-forward operations and to help employees start or add to an investment portfolio, the company is offering the option to receive bonuses in the form of cryptocurrency and a tuition reimbursement program for completion of a personal finance course from Ed2Go.com. Additional perks include free Spanish or English as second language lessons, job and social skills training program, free shift meals and numerous opportunities for growth within the company.
“English and Spanish speaking lessons are being offered as an additional incentive because we are an inherently bilingual restaurant concept,” said Barry Gutin, Principal and Co-Founder of Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar. “This program will improve communication among staff and guests, encourage applicants of all ethnicities to apply and unlock advancement opportunities for recent immigrants.”
Open restaurant positions include Server, Server Assistant, Host, Line Cook, Busser, Bartender, Prep Cook, Dishwasher and Saucier. Nightlife positions include Bottle Server, Bottle Server Assistant, Greeter and Bathroom Attendant (Atlantic City only).
