Civil War Factor Turned Nano Brewery “My Local Brew Works” Will Be Hosting Tours!

My Local Brew Works (MLBW), Philadelphia’s soon-to-launch nano-brewery focusing on contract brewing, special events, and direct-to-public brewing, is sliding into Philly Beer Week with this year’s most spirited event —  First Look: Tour To Dye For – a brewery tour led by founders of My Local Brew Works, including the Globe Dye Works (an event and work space focusing on makers and the creative community), and wrapping with beer tastings and parting gifts from MLBW. The two scheduled events bookend PBW with tours on Saturday, June 5 and Saturday, June 12 from 1-4pm.

My Local Brew Works founders, Tim Montague and Wayne Humphrey, two award-winning local home brewers, will lead groups of up to six people maximum per hour in a never-before-seen look into the brewery at the Globe Dye Works building in the city’s Frankford area.

In addition to founders Montague and Humphrey, longtime home brewing expert and mentor to the aforementioned, George Hummel will be on site to answer questions and share his expertise. Hummel is the founder and owner of Home Sweet Home Brew, the region’s premiere source for all things fermentation.

Each group will have one hour to tour the building, a reimagined Civil War factory, including the nano brewery in which Montague and Humphrey have built from the ground up. As the tour wraps, craft beer enthusiasts will sample a variety of styles from My Local Brew Works and leave with a specially brewed parting gift from the brewers. Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to purchase freshly minted merchandise from MLBW.

“As we prepare for our grand opening, we would like to give beer-lovers a chance to meet us and experience our nano brewery, which we are very proud of,” said Co-Founder and Director of Partnerships & Branding, Wayne Humphrey. “We figured what better time to welcome folks safely into our space and taste test our brews than during Philly Beer Week?”

Space is highly limited, and securing a tour is on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Due to the exclusive nature of First Look: Tour To Dye For, participants are required to confirm the day prior via text correspondence from My Local Brew Works. Interested participants of legal drinking age must register on the My Local Brew Works website, providing first and last name, email address, phone number, and favorite beer at  www.mylocalbrewworks.com

All guests will be required to wear a mask during the tour in accordance with the CDC guidelines.
