Christmas Underwater is Back at Adventure Aquarium Featuring Scuba Santa and The Worlds Tallest Underwater Christmas Tree!
Adventure Aquarium announces the return of Christmas Underwater, its annual holiday celebration extravaganza, starting Friday, November 29 through December 30, 2019.
Celebrating its 11th year, Christmas Underwater will kick-off with the welcoming of Scuba Santa and the World’s Tallest Underwater Christmas Tree Next week, Scuba Santa will dive into the aquarium’s Shark Realm – featuring the largest collection of sharks on the East Coast – and swim around the 18-foot underwater tree. The tree will also be decorated with 400 artificial and custom-sculpted corals, thanks to Scuba Santa’s trusty underwater elves.
The aquarium has added eight underwater holiday light exhibits as part of the World’s Largest Underwater Christmas Light Display. The light display will feature one-of-a-kind underwater holiday lights and illuminated trees that are sure to delight guests, as well as seven coral-inspired trees, decorations and hundreds of fiber-optic lights. Exhibits included in the new light display are the sea horse, eel and angelfish aquariums, located in Caribbean Currents.
“We are thrilled to be welcoming Scuba Santa back to the aquarium as we celebrate our 11th year of Christmas Underwater,” said Vince Nicoletti, executive director and vice president, Adventure Aquarium. “Each year we look forward to showing our guests a more unique holiday experience than the last, and we can’t wait to make an even bigger splash this year with the addition of hundreds of lights throughout our multiple exhibits.”
Scuba Santa will make the most appearances in Christmas Underwater history this year, and guests will be able to see Scuba Santa in more underwater dive shows than ever before. Adventure Aquarium will also be hosting its annual Milk & Cookie member events this year on December 7, 8, 14 and 21st. During the events, guests will have the opportunity meet Scuba Santa and get their photos taken with him, and to snack on milk and cookies while they explore the holiday magic throughout each exhibit.
